A litany of farewells

An here is a short parting verse for my final morning in Harrow before I head back the the real world.

"Goodbye" is "God be with you",
And "adieu"'s the same.
"Auf wiedersehen" and "Au revoir",
"Until we meet again"
"I bow to you" - "Namaste!"
"Sayanara" - "If it be thus."
"Cheerio"- "Be of good cheer"
And leave with little fuss.
There are many ways to part
Many more than I can tell,
But my preference is to wish you all
A "safe journey" with "farewell."

Interesting quirk of "Google Translate".
It identifies "Καλο ταξιδι" as Greek and translates it into English as "Bon Voyage". Of course "Bon Voyage" isn't actually English it's French, though we do use it in England. Its meaning though is identical to "farewell" - i.e. "have a good journey".
"Farewell" is translated by Google into French as "adieu" which, like "Goodbye" is derived from "go with God". "Goodbye", on the other hand translates into French as "au revoir" which, like the German "Auf wiedersehen" actually means "until we meet again".

How odd.
